TIFFIN -- Erica Campbell and Amanda Kilway continued their hot start to the season, but Heidelberg University dropped a close match to visiting College of Wooster Sunday afternoon at Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
With the loss, The Berg drops to 1-1 on the season while Wooster improved to 2-0 after the opening weekend.
The Student Princes battled throughout the early portions of the match, as Wooster two shots saved and one hit the crossbar in the opening four minutes of play. Once HU settled in, the offense started to pick up as Kilway, Campbell, and Madison Zimmerman registered shots.
Berg got the scoring started in the 29th-minute as Campbell beat two defenders in the corner before centering a pass for Kilway, who dispatched her second goal of the season. Campbell added her second assist of the season on the play, as she also assisted on Kilway's Friday night tally.
Heidelberg would hold the 1-0 advantage into halftime. Wooster came out in the second half with a point to prove as they scored two quick goals in the 48th-minute and the 53rd-minute. First, Claire Davis tied things up finishing off a loose ball in the box, before Krenare Rokoci finished off a pass from Erica White to establish the Scots' lead.
Wooster would go on to control the second half, registering 21 shots on the afternoon. Heidelberg goalkeeper, Alexandra Farmer collected 4 saves over the 90 minutes.
The Student Princes return to action on Wednesday, September 5, at 7:30pm as they hit the road to take on Hiram College in a non-conference match-up.
