WSOC: Berg falls victim to 90th minute goal

TIFFIN -- Heidelberg University women's soccer fell in the 90th minute to Calvin College at home on Tuesday evening.

With the loss, the Student Princes even their record at 4-4, while Calvin improves to 5-1-1.

In a defensive minded approach, Berg held the Knights scoreless for 89 minutes and 38 seconds. The barrier was finally breached when Mackenna Nesky broke the back line and fired a shot past Alexandra Farmer to send Calvin home with the 1-0 win.

Heidelberg's best scoring chance came in the 52nd minute when Amanda Nething found the frame on a nice shot that forced goalkeeper Amy Kliewer into a fine save.

Alexandra Farmer collected five stops during the contest.

The Student Princes hit the road on Saturday, September 23 as they face Thiel College at 2 p.m.
