HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Heidelberg women's tennis team earned their first victory down south with a 9-0 trouncing of the Greenville Panthers before falling victim to a 7-2 defeat by Lake Forest College.
The Berg ladies dominated Greenville College as they only dropped two sets to the Panthers.
Freshman Nicole Millar continues to perform well in her first year as she fought off her Greenville counterpart in three sets. The Waynesville native surrendered the first set, 3-6, before taking the second set, 6-2. Millar closed out her singles match with a convincing 10-2 triumph in the third set.
On Wednesday, the Student Princes fell to the Lake Forest Foresters to the same tune the Berg men did, 7-2. Like the men's contest, the women;'s singles matches were shortened due to inclement weather.
Potts who occupied the fifth spot for the Berg ladies, collected the lone singles victory. The junior Clyde native handed her opponent, Lucy-George Cooper a 10-6 defeat. Potts teamed up with Brushaber to collect another doubles victory. The junior-senior duo swung their way to an 8-1 victory.
On the year, the pair is 4-0 in doubles competition.
The Berg women will battle the Titans of Westminster (Pa.) College tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m.
