MASON, Ohio- The Heidelberg University women's tennis team swept Muskingum University 9-0, on Sunday. The Student Princes improved to 7-7 overall and 4-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. With the win, the Student Princes improve their ranking to 4th place in the OAC.
Heidelberg started Sunday's tennis match with a doubles match. The match featured Sofey Fugate and Katie Strahan. They beat their Muskie counterpart 8-2. Deidre Potter and Nicole Millar also won their doubles match 8-1. Sara Potts and Rachael Brushaber kept their Fighting Muskie partners scoreless claiming an 8-0 victory.
To start off the singles match was Fugate. She beat her opponent 6-1, 6-0 for the win. Lovati beat her opponent in the 6th match by the same score 6-1, 6-0. The Student Princes' Millar and Potts claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Strahan kept a Muskingum tennis player scoreless beating her 6-0 in both sets. At 3rd singles Potter won both of her matches 6-0, 6-1 handily.
The win over Muskingum was the third straight for the Berg. They will look to make it four in their next match at John Carroll on Wednesday.
