DEFIANCE – The Heidelberg University women's tennis team opened up their fall season with a resounding victory over Defiance College on Monday. The Student Princes swept the Yellow Jackets 9-0. It was the first season-opening win for the Berg women since a 9-0 win over Bluffton in the 2012-13 season.

Nicole Millar (2nd singles) and Allie Gales (4th singles) had the most closely-contested matches of the afternoon, winning in a tiebreaker after splitting the first two sets.
In doubles action, Fugate and Millar teamed up at first doubles for an 8-2 win while Hogle and Gales won convincingly, 8-1, at second doubles. Patrick and Catherine Harris had the closest doubles match, winning 8-5.
