TIFFIN -- Both Heidelberg University tennis teams were in action this afternoon against the University of Mount Union, but could not pick up a win against the ever-tough conference foe.

With their loss, the men now stand at 2-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The women sit at 3-7, 1-5.

At home, the men's team was battle tested all afternoon being locked at deuce multiple times. Deadlocked, the games unfortunately swung in favor of Mount Union. At third singles, Porus Shroff earned the only point of the day for Heidelberg with a dramatic third set super tiebreaker. After dropping set one, 3-6, Shroff battled back to take the next two sets 6-4, 10-7.

On the road, the women carried a wounded roster that resulted in three forfeits. Jillian Goulet made things difficult for Mount at second singles. After dropping set one 0-6, Goulet stormed back and was narrowly edged 4-6 in the second set. Esmerelda Salazar and Megan Novess took three games at second doubles, but could not overcome the Purple Raider duo and dropped the match 8-3.

The women will host Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday the 17th for their senior day match at 4 p.m. The program will honor seniors Samantha Escalera and Meridith Lucius prior to the match.

The men will travel to Baldwin Wallace on Friday, April 19th for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
