AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - The Heidelberg University women's track and field squad have been predicted to finish fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Berg men were pegged to finish eighth in the outdoor standings.
Led by two-time All-American, senior Sophie Goobic, the Heidelberg ladies claimed fifth at the 2013-14 OAC Indoor Championships. Goobic, who was the lone female earn an individual title, was one of seven All-OAC performers on the women's side.
Goobic will be joined by a slue of young talent as the Berg ladies begin the outdoor season on Saturday, March 29 in Cedarville, Ohio.
On the men's side, two-time All-American Josh Lynch will look to double up on OAC Championships in the triple jump. Lynch earned his first individual OAC title during the indoor season on his way to a fourth place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Lynch will be accompanied by the only other All-OAC performer for the Berg men, junior thrower Gage Falcone. The two stellar field athletes will look to score crucial team point at the 2014 Outdoor Championships as the Berg men attempt to climb back into the top half of the conference.
The Heidelberg men's track and field squad will travel with the Berg women to Cedarville University for the Yellow Jackets Collegiate Open on March 29.
