HANOVER, Indiana – The Heidelberg University track & field teams had a strong showing at the Hanover Invitational on Saturday. The women's team finished third and the men's team took fourth. Here's a look at Heidelberg's top 5 finishes.
Women 200 Meter Dash: Taylor Dillon was fourth in the 200, clocking a 27.73.
Women 400 Meter Run: In the 400, Dillon was second with a 1:00.88. Baylee Garrett was fourth with a time of 1:01.17, her PR.
Women 1500 Meter Run: Rachel House was the runner-up in the 1500. She had a time of 4:57.85, her PR.
Women 5000 Meter Run: Freshman Amanda Elkins was fifth in the 5k with a time of 20:08.08
Women High Jump: Olivia Hipp cleared 1.59m on her first attempt and won the high jump. Garrett was fourth, clearing 1.54m, tying her PR.
Women Shot Put: Madison Haasz was second in the shot with a mark of 12.90m. Her best throw came on her final attempt.
Women Hammer Throw: Haasz was the top collegiate finisher in the hammer. She had a 51.44 throw on her third attempt.
Women Javelin Throw: Haasz won the javelin with a throw of 34.20m on her first attempt.
Men 800 Meter Run: Tim Faiken was fifth in the 800, clocking a 2:02.63
Men 3000 Meter Steeplechase: Isaac Kuntz (10:07.75) splashed his way to a resounding 27-second victory in the steeple.
Men Long Jump: Lyon was third in the long jump. His best mark, 6.27m, came on his first attempt.
Men Hammer Throw: Tristen Durr was the third collegiate finisher in the hammer, sixth overall. His best mark was 47.01m.
Up next: Heidelberg competes at the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan University next weekend.
