DELWARE, Ohio – The Heidelberg University track & field teams competed at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. A number of personal records were set as the men's team place 6th out of 18 teams while the women finished 9th.
WOMEN JAVELIN: Madison Haasz set a new personal record with a throw of 38.08 meters (124'11'') to win the javelin by over three feet.
MEN SHOT PUT: Zack Felton earned a 2nd-place finish with a best throw of 15.68 meters, setting a new personal record for the senior.
WOMEN HAMMER: Haasz won her second event of the day with a throw of 51.75 meters (169'9''). That throw set a new All-Ohio meet record, breaking the old mark of 155'10'' which was set back in 2010.
MEN TRIPLE JUMP: Bennett earned a 7th-place finish with 12.92 meters.
MEN 10,000 METER RUN: Matthew Tussing placed sixth with a time of 34:20.85.
MEN 3000 METER STEEPLECHASE: Isaaz Kuntz earned a 7th-place finish in a time of 9:50.20.
WOMEN 1500 METER RUN: Rachel House crossed the finish line in 4:51.03, setting a new PR and placing 7th.
MEN 400 METER DASH: Lyon scored points in his third event of the afternoon, finishing 7th in a time of 49.51 seconds, which set a new personal record by over half a second.
WOMEN 400 METER DASH: Taylor Dillon earned an 8th place finish, crossing the finish line in a time of 59 seconds flat, which set a new PR.
MEN 400 METER HURDLES: Kenny Beucler earned a 5th-place finish with a time of 55.6 seconds.
MEN 5000 METER RUN: Dylan Dombi crossed the finish line in a time of 15:30.04, earning him a 5th-place finish.
WOMEN 5000 METER RUN: Dani Blum placed 4th, crossing the finish line in a time of 18:23.89.
WOMEN SHOT PUT: Haasz placed in her third event of the day, placing second in the shot put with a distance of 13.28 meters (43'7'').
WOMEN HIGH JUMP: Olivia Hipp earned a 7th-place finish by clearing 1.57 meters (5'1.75'').
The Heidelberg track & field teams will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Ada for the Polar Bear Invitational.
