ADA, Ohio -- Bolstered by eight first place finishes, the Heidelberg University track and field teams had a solid outing at the Polar Bear Classic, hosted by Ohio Northern University. The men's side took third place, scoring 120 points, while the women finished fifth with 63 points.
Below is a listing of all top-eight placers from the two-day event.
Women 400 Meter Dash -- Sarah Hunter won the event with a time of 58.48.
Women 400 Meter Hurdles -- Freshman Allison Schwarzbek won the event with a time of 1:07.23.
Women High Jump -- Olivia Hipp won the event, clearing 5-3 feet.
Men 400 Meter Dash -- With a time of 50.60, Jerrod Lyon won the event.
Men 1500 Meter Run -- Isaac Kuntz's time of 4:14.36 won him the event.
Men 400 Meter Hurdles -- Heidelberg had two top-eight finishers in the event. Kenny Beucler took first place with a time of 54.72, while Jon Suter finished fourth (59.60).
Men High Jump -- Wes Fritz won the event, clearing 6-09.50 feet. Ryan Edwards took eighth, clearing 6-00.00 feet.
Men Triple Jump -- Kevin Thompson won the event with a jump of 42-03.50 feet.
Women 1500 Meter Run -- With a time of 5:17.61, Harley Berlesky took fifth place.
Women Javelin Throw -- Olivia Hipp's throw of 96-11 feet was good for a fifth place finish.
Women 100 Meter Hurdles -- Allison Schwarzbek finished fifth with a time of 16.58.
Women 5000 Meter Run -- Megan Lefeld finished sixth with a race of 23:14.29.
Women Long Jump -- With a jump of 15-06.75 feet, Olivia Hipp took seventh.
Women Discus Throw -- Alexia Page-Boyd ended in seventh place with a throw of 124-08 feet.
Men 100 Meter Dash -- Freshman Edward Alfred took fifth with a time of 11.29.
Men 200 Meter Dash -- With a time of 22.90, Edward Alfred finished fourth.
Men 800 Meter Run -- The Berg had two top-eight finishers in the event. Jacob Berryman took second with a time of 2:02.02, while Eric Peterson finished eighth with a race of 2:04.46.
Men 5000 Meter Run -- Tim Jasper took seventh place with a time of 17:28.46.
Men 4x400 Meter Relay -- The team of Dom Frey, Isaac Kuntz, Eric Peterson, and Jesse Rudolph finished in fifth place after running a 3:46.26.
Men Long Jump -- HU had three top-eight finishers in the event. Wes Fritz (20-09.00 feet) took third, Kevin Thompson (20-08.50 feet) finished fourth, and Jerrod Lyon (20-06.25 feet) finished seventh.
Men Discus Throw -- With a throw of 141-05 feet, Tristen Durr took home sixth place.
Men Hammer Throw -- Tristen Durr finished third with a throw of 181-03 feet. Ben Gutzky took home eighth with a throw of 152-10 feet.
Men Javelin Throw -- Dan Stoll (144-08 feet) took fourth, while Jon Suter (129-00 feet) finished seventh.
Both the men's and women's teams are back in action next weekend for the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.
