TF-W: Grove carries women to seventh place

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Paced by three all-conference performances, the Heidelberg University women's track and field team took seventh place at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Otterbein University. In all, the women's side scored eight times in six events.

Women's 200 Meter Dash: Kelsey Grove, fourth after the prelims, sprinted to a runner-up finish in the 200, running a 25.58. Arinn Hayes was eighth with a 26.16.

Women's 400 Meter Hurdles: Allison Schwarzbek clocked a 1:04.70 and finished third.

Women's 4x100 Meter Relay: Allison Schwarzbek, Arinn Hayes, Ayanna Hayes and Kelsey Grove combined for an All-OAC third-place finish with a 49.44.

Women's 10,000 Meter Run: On Friday, Amanda Elkins put up the women's first team points in the meet's longest race. Elkins crossed the line fifth overall with a time of 39:30.54.

Women's 100 Meter Dash: Kelsey Grove (12.52) and Arinn Hayes (12.59) took home sixth and seventh in the 100.

Women's 4x400 Meter Relay: Kelsey Grove, Jada Thomas, Allison Schwarzbek and Tomea Abbitt placed sixth with a 4:12.56.
