Full Release

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana -- This past weekend, six Heidelberg University track and field athletes were tabbed All-Great Lakes Region selections by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their outstanding performances this season.

For consideration to the USTFCCCA All-Region team, athletes must register a mark ranking in the top-5 of their region in their individual event.

On the men's side, national qualifier Kenny Beucler led the way in the 400m Hurdles, while Wes Fritz (High Jump) and Dan Stoll (400m Dash) were also selected.

For the women, juniors Kelsey Grove (200m Dash) and Allison Schwarzbek (400m Hurdles) along with freshman Arinn Hayes (Long Jump) were tabbed to the regional recognition.

Beucler -- who is bound for the 2019 Outdoor Track and Field National Championships this weekend in Geneva, Ohio -- registered his fastest time this season in a runner-up effort at the OAC Championships where he clocked a 52.54 second race. The time seeds him fifth heading into Nationals this weekend.

Fritz's best effort in the high jump came early on in the outdoor season at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational hosted by Muskingum University. The mark measured in at 6 feet, 8.25 inches.

Stoll clocked in a blistering 48.79 second time in the 400m dash this season. The time claimed the status of All-Ohio Champion for Stoll in the event.

Groves' top mark in the 200m dash this season came in the finals of the OAC Championships in a runner-up finish that gave her All-OAC honors. The time was clocked at 25.51 seconds.

Schwarzbek paced the team in the 400m hurdle event this year, with her season best coming courtesy of an All-Ohio title. Her time registered a 1:04.35.

Hayes -- the team's top jumper this season -- put in her best leap late in the year at the NCC Gregory Final Qualifier with a distance of 18 feet, 1.5 inches.
