TIFFIN – Adding to her postseason accolades, Sarah Parker has been name honorable mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The sophomore is the seventh player in Heidelberg volleyball history to receive AVCA All-American recognition, joining Morgan Magers (2008, 2009), Brittany Donelan (2009, 2010), Marian Bevington (2010, 2011), Emily Hurlburt (2008), Jackie Reinhart (2010, 2011) and Amber Welfle (2013). She was also named 1st team All-OAC and 1st team All-Region this season.
Parker had a tremendous year in the front row for the Student Princes with 449 kills, which is the sixth-most in a season in Heidelberg history. She led the Ohio Athletic Conference in both kills and kills per set this season, recording 20 or more kills in a match six times this year. Her 3.90 kills per set is the 5th-highest mark in Berg volleyball history. Parker also led the team with 81 blocks, including 23 solo.
The Heidelberg University volleyball team posted a 19-12 record for the 2014 season, tying for 2nd place in the OAC for the regular season.
