AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Heidelberg University volleyball setter Karlie DiRuzza (Massillon/Jackson) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week. DiRuzza, a senior, helped lead the Student Princes to a 2-0 record -- with wins at Baldwin Wallace and at Marietta.
In seven sets, DiRuzza accumulated an impressive 91 assists -- 13.0 per set. She also tallied 14 digs and three blocks.
"I am very happy to see Karlie receive individual awards," said head coach Jason Miller. "She has worked extremely hard to get to where she is now."
In her second full season as the primary setter, DiRuzza -- a 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-American -- has amassed 2,376 assists, fourth-most in school history.
