TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University volleyball team cruised to a sweep over Wilmington College 25-12, 25-14, 25-15 before dropping Ohio Wesleyan in five sets 25,15, 25-14, 24-26, 14-25, 15-12. The Student Princes close out the regular season with a record of 21-8, 8-1 in the OAC. Wilmington falls to 3-24, 0-9 in OAC action while Ohio Wesleyan moves to 17-11.
With the win over Wilmington, Heidelberg has locked up the No. 2 seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, which begins on Tuesday.

11 service aces anchored the Berg to the sweep of Wilmington -- five coming from senior Megan Flaherty.
In the first set, the Tricolor used a four-point swing to extend their lead to 14-7 with kills from Mariah Sullivan and Janessa Scott, along with a block by Sarah Parker and Mikaela Weldy. A kill by Sullivan capped off a 25-12 first set win for HU.
Up 16-12, in set two, the Berg scored five straight points to give themselves a comfortable lead. Two of those five points came as a result of service aces from Rachel Raimondo. Kills by Sullivan and Alex Vess gave Heidelberg a 25-14 win.
The Berg jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the final set. Wilmington chipped away at the lead, but the Student Princes kept the Quakers at a distance. A Quaker attack error gave Heidelberg a 25-15 win.

Picking up where they left off, the Student Princes jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the opening set against Ohio Wesleyan. Parker hammered a kill down the left sideline to give the Berg a commanding 25-15 first set win.
The Student Princes kept the momentum in the second set, building a large lead. A Taylor Arbogast kill put the Berg ahead 22-9. The teams exchanged points before Laura Schrag's kill gave HU a set two win.
A back and forth third set went the Battling Bishops' way. With the scored tied at 24, an OWU kill and a Berg attack error eliminated the chance of an HU sweep.
OWU dominated the fourth set, evening the match at two sets apiece.
In the decisive fifth set, Parker had three kills, including the final point, for Heidelberg's five-set victory.
Parker had 23 kills in the match while DiRuzza chipped in with 48 assists. Raimondo was impressive in the back row with 33 digs. Mills added 18 digs of her own.

Heidelberg had 16 total service aces on the day.
In the decisive fifth set against Ohio Wesleyan, the Berg swung a .300 clip.
Prior to the Wilmington match, HU honored its seven seniors -- Flaherty, Parker, Sullivan, DiRuzza, Mills, Scott, and Weldy.

The Berg hosts Muskingum for the first round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday evening. Match time against the Muskies is scheduled for 7 p.m.
