LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Senior Sarah Parker and junior Rachel Raimondo are All-Americans. Parker earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) third team All-America honors while Raimondo was selected as an honorable mention. Parker becomes the first three-time All-American in program history.
Parker has earned the honor for the third straight season. She was an honorable mention in 2014 and 2015. Parker finished her career with 1,769 kills -- second all-time in Heidelberg history. She was named OAC Co-Player of the Year and AVCA first team all-region. Parker led the OAC in kills with 500 this season.
"I think being the first three-time All-American here is pretty special to her," said head coach Jason Miller. "It's a testament to the type of player she was and definitely will leave a very long legacy here at Heidelberg."
Raimondo has earned All-American honors for the first time in her career. The Mentor native was named OAC Libero of the Year and was named to the AVCA first team all-region along with Parker. Raimondo led the OAC with nearly 700 digs this season and currently sits sixth on Heidelberg's career list.
"Rachel has worked really hard and had to overcome a lot of adversity this year," said Miller. "I'm proud of both young women and I'm excited to see what the next steps are for both of them."
Parker and Raimondo led the Student Princes to their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance. HU finished the year with a 23-10 record.
