AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Four members of the Heidelberg University volleyball team have received All-OAC selections, as announced on Monday. Senior Rachel Raimondo led the honorees, being named Libero of the Year for the second straight season.
A first team All-OAC selection, Raimondo concluded her stellar career at the Berg with 583 digs this season. The Mentor native finished with 2,054 digs over her four years to sit in fourth place all-time at the Berg. She also led the OAC in digs per set with 5.77. In the 16 years that the conference has awarded Libero of the Year honors, five have been Student Princes (Raimondo 16-17, Brittany Donelan 08-10).
Morgan Strenk earned her first All-OAC nod, being named to the first team as well. The junior had a team-leading 323 kills on the year, playing a large role in the HU offense. Strenk tallied 159 digs and a team-high 28 service aces this season. She becomes the 15th individual to garner first team accolades in program history.
After a breakout season, sophomore setter Anna McNabb was named to the second team. In her first season as the primary setter, McNabb compiled 1,054 assists and 221 digs.
Taylor Valentine rounded out the honorees, being named to the honorable mention. Valentine finished second on the team with 267 kills. The sophomore added 222 digs and played a valuable role down the stretch of the OAC regular season.
The Heidelberg volleyball team finished the season with a 17-12 record before falling in the semifinals of the OAC Tournament to eventual champion Otterbein.
