MARIETTA -- The Heidelberg University volleyball team won their ninth straight match, knocking off Marietta College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-16).
The victory marked the 11th time this season Heidelberg swept a match in straight sets and brings their record to 16-5 (3-0). Marietta falls to 8-14 (0-3).
Morgan Strenk and Laura Schrag paced the Heidelberg offense, both reaching the double-digit mark in kills. Strenk nailed 12 kills on a .400 hitting percentage. Schrag hit at a .588 clip, amassing 10 kills and zero errors on 17 total attacks. Taylor Valentine hit seven kills and Alyssa Crusey collected six of her own to help out the Berg attack. Anna McNabb set-up 32 assists on the afternoon.
Taylor Arbogast contributed in all aspects of the match, collecting 18 digs, three assists, and three service aces.
Strenk and McNabb complimented their offensive efforts by adding nine and eight digs respectively. Schrag and Strenk also combined for the Berg's only block of the afternoon.
The Student Princes out-hit the Pioneers hitting a .253 percentage compared to a .067 clip for Marietta.
Heidelberg continues their road trip on Tuesday at Baldwin Wallace University for a 7 p.m. start.
