GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – In his first collegiate 8k race, freshman Dylan Dombi finished 32nd at the Calvin Knight Invitational, leading the Heidelberg University men's cross country team to an 11th place finish. Heidelberg's women's team finished seventh.

Dombi (26:21.6) came in 32nd overall and finished with a pace of 3:18/K.

Nearly 40 seconds later, Isaac Kuntz (27:09.0) crossed the finish line 73rd overall.

The rest of Heidelberg's top five finished within 10 seconds of each other. Zach Flint (27:29.0), Cameron Weaks (27:35.1) and Nick Jones (27.35.3) came in 97th, 101st and 102nd place overall.

The women's team had the best showing of the OAC teams at the meet. Ohio Northern finished 10th and Baldwin Wallace finished 14th on the brisk Saturday morning.

Dani Blum (19:24.9), Rachel House (19.28.8) and Hayley Cochran (19:35.5) finished together in a cluster – 31st, 37th and 42nd overall.

Shawnda Henault (20:23.3) and Kristen Fett (20:24.1) rounded out Heidelberg's top five. The pair finished 95th and 97th overall.

Both teams will return to competition in two weeks at the Pre-National Meet at Kings Island in the greater Cincinnati area.
