MASON - The Heidelberg University men's and women's cross country teams were back on the course on Saturday, September 27th at the NCAA DIII Pre-National meet. The meet, hosted by Wilmington College at the Kings Island Golf Course in Mason, Ohio, saw the usual suspects lead the Student Princes on the day as Dani Blum posted the top time for the women, while freshman Dylan Dombi led the men.
In the women's 6K race, Blum places 32nd overall with a time of 22:12.96, leading the Student Princes to a 15th place finish out of 27 teams. Rachel House and Hayley Cochran finished in a close two and three for the 'Berg, coming in 55th and 57th place overall. Allie Dresser and Baylee Garrett rounded out the fourth and fifth spots for Heidelberg in the race.
The men's race saw Dombi finish in 78th place overall with fellow freshman Isaac Kuntz not far behind in 88th place. Dombi finished in a time of 25:32.15 with Kuntz finishing in 25:38.61, pacing the Student Prince men to a 16th-place finish out of 31 teams. Nick Jones, Zach Flint, and Cameron Weaks finished within seven seconds of each other to round out the top five for the men.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday, October 3rd, when they compete at the All-Ohio Meet at Cedarville University.
