Quartet earns All-OAC status at OAC Championship

GATES MILLS, Ohio – As has been the story all season, Dani Blum and Dylan Dombi led the way for the Heidelberg University cross country teams. At the OAC Championships, Blum finished 3rd and helped the women's team to a 4th-place finish. Dombi's 11th-place finish propelled the men's team to 5th overall.

On the 8k course at Gillmour Academy, the freshman Dombi clocked a time of 27:42.94. By finishing 11th, Dombi earned Second Team All-OAC status and was just three seconds away from finishing as a first team performer.

The rest of the men's team finished within a minute of each other, led by Isaac Kuntz's 31st-place time of 28:48.93. Zach Flint (28:57.46), Cameron Weaks (29:04.47) and Devaun Churchya (29:21.94) finished 34th, 35th and 38th.

Mount Union's Alex Wilson (26:28.60) was the medalist and his Purple Raiders took home the team title.

The women ran a 6k race at Gillmour hosted by John Carroll University. Blum finished in 24:22.761, 23 seconds behind the leader. With her 3rd-place finish, Blum earned First Team All-OAC status after finishing with Second Team honors last year.

Behind Blum, Rachel House and Hayley Cochran raced their way to Second Team All-OAC accolades. House (24:58.25) finished 11th and Cochran (25:20.77) crossed the line 16th.

Rounding out the scoring for the women were Shawnda Henault (26:07.69, 31st) and Baylee Garrett (27:26.24, 47th).

Mount Union's women also won the team title, with Purple Raider Catie Campbell (23:59.99) taking home the individual crown.

In two weeks, the Heidelberg harriers will run at the NCAA Regional event at King's Island in Cincinnati.
