MASON, Ohio – Dani Blum and Rachel House wrapped up the 2014 cross country season for Heidelberg on Saturday, November 22, at the NCAA Division III Championships. Blum finished the race in 111th place overall while House came in 154th. Both competitors qualified for the championships as individuals out of the Great Lakes Regional a week ago.

Sophomore Dani Blum, who has led the Student Prince women all year, finished the six-kilometer race in 23:19.2. That time was good enough for 111th place out of the 275 competitors to finish the race.

Rachel House, competing at nationals in just her first season of collegiate cross country, came in 154th place in a time of 23:37.0.

This was a historic race for Heidelberg cross country, as Blum was the first-ever Berg sophomore to qualify for nationals while House was the first-ever freshman to qualify for the Student Princes. This was also the first time that Heidelberg has had multiple individual qualifiers for nationals in the same season.

Johns Hopkins took home the National Championship with a team score of 87 with MIT coming in second with a score of 112. The individual national champion was Amy Regan from the Stevens Institute of Technology, winning with a time of 20:51.9.
