Blum, Parker recognized by the OAC

Dani Blum and Sarah Parker were both named Ohio Athletic Conference players of the week in their respective sports of cross country and volleyball for their performances this past weekend.

Blum, a sophomore from Galion, Ohio, finished in second place at the Bluffton Invitational on Friday in a time of 19:26.70 for the 5K race.  She led the women's team to a 3rd place finish overall, taking almost a minute off her time from the same race last season.

Parker, coming off of a freshman campaign where she earned 2nd team All-OAC honors and was named conference player of the week once, continued her success on the court to open the 2014 season and helped Heidelberg to a 3-1 record at the Sommer Center Spiketacular in Bluffton.  She finished the weekend with a total of 69 kills, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team.

The cross country teams will be off for a week before their next race, which will take place on Friday, September 12.  The Student Prince volleyball team will be back in action this Friday, September 5, when they take on Westminster (Mo.) as a part of the Charlie Wrublewski Tournament at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
