XC: Student Princes rumble in Oberlin

OBERLIN -- On a brisk, autumn afternoon, the Heidelberg University men's and women's cross country teams ran at the Oberlin Inter-Region Rumble.  The men finished 11th out of 27 teams, while the women placed 15th out of 26 teams.

In the 8K, Austin Neura crossed the line fifth overall, with a time of 25:40.0. Eric Peterson was next for the Berg, placing 75th with a 27:12.4.

Alec Watterson was not far behind Peterson, placing 79th with a 27:20.9. Mitch Luken placed 101st with a time of 27:48.5. Just three seconds behind Luken was Dylan Wiechart who finished 106th in 27:51.6.

Rounding out the scoring for Heidelberg was Dakota Freeman (28:00.8) and Kyle Nash (28:07.9) who placed 118th and 126th respectively.

On the women's side, freshman Brittney Roth finished 26th overall with time of 23:13.2 over the 6K course to pace the Berg.

Amanda Elkins was next across the stripe for the Student Princes, finishing 47th with a time of 23:35.9. Alexandra Chakov (24:48.2) placed 109th. Taylor Rodriguez finished 155th overall with a time of 25:34.7. Just two seconds after Rodriguez was Quinnlyn Conley who placed 158th in 25:36.3.

Destiny Kemmerling (27:31.2) and Emily Wagner (27:33.0) finished out the scoring for the Berg women.

Next on the docket for both squads is the OAC Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union on October 27th.
